The Centurions of 2011 Facebook Group

I love to read but it tends to be the first thing cut in my busy life. To squelch this problem, I have joined The Centurions of 2011 Group: 111 Books by December 2012 on Facebook. (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=243348159758&v=wall) This group was started by Paul W Hankins and includes readers who have set goals of reading 111 or more books during 2011. Readers are not limited to what style of book they would like to read. You can read picture books, early chapter books, adult novels, middle school novels, or professional books. The possibilities are endless. Each member posts their list of read books at the end of each month. Some people are even posting mid-month when they finish a book. The group asks that you highlight at least one pick to twelve of your favorites to share in detail.

This group has been a HUGE motivator for me. The best part is that you get to share wonderful books with other book lovers. I have written down several recommended titles to put on my TBR (To Be Read) list. You also get some great feedback from other readers about the books you have posted. It’s a quick and painless way to share books with strangers. What more could you ask for?

I tend to be a slow reader but am very motivated by the quick readers in this group. I have a stack of books that I hope to read by the end of the month and read as often as I can. I also go to the public library weekly with my boys to stock up on picture books. All of these books go on my Centurion list once they are read. It’s as easy as that. Please check out the link above and see if it’s something that might interest you. Happy Reading!

Here are my TBR piles for February.
